SPACING MARKER (Measure 4) - a new marker has been added to provide precise spacing for accidentals, grace notes and fingerings in the notation. To add the marker, expand the measure to 1/64 scale. Place the cursor 1/64 to the right of the note, then press [w]. To change accidental spacing, with the cursor on the marker, press [=]. Double-click on the marker to open the "Note Spacing" dialog. Change the "X-Position" as desired to move the accidental. To change fingerings in the notation, with the cursor on the marker, press [f]. Double-click on the marker to open the "Note Spacing" dialog. Change the "X-Position" as desired to move the fingering. To change a grace note, with the cursor on the marker, double-click on the marker to open the "Note Spacing" dialog. Change the "X-Position" as desired to move the fingering. Additional functions are available for grace notes when the cursor is on the marker. * [a] - changes the stem direction on notes with a downward stem. * [!] - removes the grace note flag. Useful when you have multiple grace notes in a stack. * [SHIFT]-[>] or [SHIFT]-[>] - moves the grace note right or left. * [SHIFT}-[)] - toggles the grace note duration from (1/8, 1/32, 1/16, 1/8, 1/4, 1/2). * [n] - removes the grace note slur graphic mark, leaving only the note. 2. TABLATURE NUMBERS TO SCALE NOTES - press [$] ([SHIFT]-[4]) to change the numbers in the tablature to scale notes (C,D,E,F, etc.) This comes in handy to print a fretboard map showing notes on all strings/frets. 3. STACCATO EFFECT (Measure 3)- when multiple notes are in a voice, the staccato dot is displayed only once. For upper voice above the note, lower voice below the note. 4.BEND DISPLAY - The display of bends has been improved to match what is commonly found in printed music. For backwards compatibility, the previous displays are still available. The primary change is the use of the "Ghost" note to display different bend graphics, and the use of "Pitch Change" to create a pre-bend. Measure 5 - Beat 1: Standard "Bend" effect with no change to graphic. Note the use of the "Ghost" note. For consistency, you should use the "Ghost" note for bends but it is optional. Measure 5 - Beat 3: Standard "Bend and Release" effect graphic has been changed as displayed. Again the "Ghost" note effect should be used but is optional. Measure 6 - Beat 1: New Pre-Bend. Add the the note on fret 5 and add the "Bend" effect, then open the "Pitch Change" dialog. Change the "Pitch (semitones)" to desired value. Measure 6 - Beat 3: New Pre-Bend and Release. Add the note on fret 7 and add the "Bend and Release" effect. Open the "Special Effects" and select "Variation". Measure 7 - Beat 1: Combination Bend and Release. Enter the three notes. Add the "Bend" effect to the first note and a second "Bend" effect on the second note. Add "Ghost" note effect on notes 2 and 3. NOTE: Use the combined "Ghost" note on note 2 available from the "Special Effects" dialog only. Notice the release can be different then the starting fret. Measure 8 - Beat 1: Combination Bend and Release (prior version backward capability). Enter the three notes. Add the "Bend" effect to the first note and "Bend and Release" effect on the second note. The third note is set to "ppp" which is optional. Measure 9 - Beat 1: Bend, Pick Bend and Release. Add a "Bend" effect to note 1. Enter the second note as a "Pre-Bend Release" (see Measure 6 Beat 3). Finish by adding the "Ghost" note to note 3. 5. CHORD DIAGRAMS WITH FINGERS (Measure 13)- Create the chord diagram using finger numbers rather than dots. Place the note cursor on the chord diagram marker and press [B]. This toggles the display between the previous display of numbers in the diagram and numbers below the diagram. 6. LEGATO SLIDE (Measure 14)- this slide is a slide to the destination note, then the note is picked at the end of the slide. Enter the slide as normal. Open the "Special Effects" dialog and select "Variation". 7. TRIPLET DISPLAYS (Measures 15-19) - Variations of triplets with no beaming to rests in measures 15 and 16. Combinations of 1/4 note triplet and 1/8 note triplet in measure 17. Using the [O} to move note heads to obtain a better alignment of normal note durations and triplet note durations. For correct alignment, the second normal note duration should be displayed between the 2nd and 3rd triplets.
